“When you’re supposed to go up, find the highest tower and climb to the top.  When you’re supposed to go down, find the deepest well and go down to the bottom.”  (Haruki Murakami’s The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle)

“When you’re supposed to go up, find the highest tower and climb to the top.  When you’re supposed to go down, find the deepest well and go down to the bottom.”  (The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle)  2009 Haruki Murakami’s ‘The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle’ photocopied page by page, starting at 50% the original size on page 1, increasing by 1% with each subsequent page, until the final pages (there are 607), where the size of the text will be 600% the original size (or just over an inch high).  At present this piece is six feet across, and is shown below in my exhibit at the Eric Phleger Gallery on the floor with a plexi circle overlay so that viewers could walk directly on it, or view it from the balcony above in the gallery.
