I’m not sure if I can remember the last time I enjoyed working quite so much.  This is the second piece in the ‘new direction’ (having tossed the ‘the whole book, in its entirety’ rule, that is....)  and I’m really, really excited.  The reception the first got (‘arches, loops & whorls’) at the, well, reception was incredibly encouraging , and so I got started immediately on the new idea.  It is a self-portrait in the form of a text thumbprint.....my thumbprint, blown up to 24” x 36”, with texts comprised of various snippets of poems, stories and  books, lyrics with special meaning to me.  Thinking a lot about doing a series of portraits, using other people’s thumbprints and texts.  Let me know what you think!
