All that is needed for this portrait is a list of 15-20 of your favorite books!  Other options could include using your children’s favorite books (and their thumbprints),  even a list of favorite films, and using dissembled movie posters, song lyrics, cut from the liner notes of favorite cd’s, images and titles from cd or album covers, postcards/travel books/maps for the avid traveler.......).  The possibilities are endless!  This one is a portrait of Cal, a 14-year-old accomplished falconer, and his thumbprint portrait is made up entirely of bits of text and imagery from books about falcons, hawks, owls and the like.  His passion made for a gorgeous direct-from-nature color scheme that I really enjoy.
